Super Eagles stand-in captain against Algeria, Leon Balogun is excited to lead the Nigerian team in the absence of Captain John Mikel Obi, saying it is a great honour to wear the captain arm-band.
Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw with the Fennecs of Algeria at Constantine on Friday night after Hapoel Beer Sheva of Israel midfielder, John Ogu put the team ahead in the 62nd minute, the Togolese referee later awarded a controversial late penalty to the Algerians in the 88th minute to end the game 1-1 at full time.
In his post-match reaction after the game in Constantine, Balogun appreciates the Nigerian fans for their unflinching support and says it is a great honour to lead the team out in the last 2018 World Cup qualifying game.
The team is expected to depart Constantine for the international friendly against former champions Argentina scheduled to hold in Krasnodar on Tuesday 14 November in Russia.
