Russia-born FC Amkar Perm defender, Brian Oladapo Idowu has joined the Super Eagles camp in Krasnodar, Russia ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against former world champions Argentina.
The news of his arrival was disclosed on the team’s official twitter handle. “Russia based Bryan Idowu( @idovubryan) has joined up with the rest of the squad in Krasnodar ahead of Tuesday’s friendly vs Argentina. He is very happy to be here #SoarSuperEagles,” the statement reads on twitter.
The 25-year-old defender is on the verge of making his debut for Nigeria following his decision to play for the Super Eagles. His father is Nigerian and his mother is half-Russian, half-Nigerian. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia except for a period when he was aged 3 to 6 when he lived in Owerri, Nigeria.
The team arrived Krasnodar late Saturday after playing 1-1 draw with Fennecs of Algeria in their last World Cup qualifier group game on Friday night, in preparation for Tuesday’s international friendly against Argentina.
