Manchester United have been told to forget about a move for Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba.
United boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the left-back and after making enquiries over the summer was planning a firm move for the Spain international in January.
However, Don Balon says Alba has been convinced to stay with Barca by Lionel Messi.
Messi and Alba are close and the Argentine has managed to persuade him that his future can be more successful by staying.
Alba's camp have now relayed his commitment to United intermediaries, with no offer – no matter the size – to tempt him away.
