Antoine Griezmann has emerged as a top transfer target for Barcelona as the Catalans look to be in the market for a forward as reports of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee continues to gain momentum.
Armed with the money they would receive for the Brazil international, Spanish news outlet AS say the Catalans could tempt Atletico into parting with their prized asset the very same summer the 26-year-old pledged his future to the capital club.
The France forward had looked set to join Manchester United earlier in the summer but rejected their advances following Atleti’s transfer ban being upheld.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have confirmed Neymar has asked to leave the club and will now be allowed to”resolve his future”.
Neymar was given permission not to train by Barcelona on Wednesday, with transfer talks with PSG having now reached an advanced stage, and was seen leaving the club’s base less than an hour after arriving.
