PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi demanded Marco Verratti make his filmed apology last week, it has been claimed.

Verratti apologised to fans and PSG on video for a month of transfer speculation linking him with Barcelona.

Antoine Maumon, a L’Equipe journalist, told Radio Barcelona that the video was the idea of Al-Khelaifi.

He explained: “It was president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi who forced Verrattito record this video of apologies to the club and supporters.

“Barca still wants to recruit Verratti and Verratti, despite this video, wants to join Barça. He apologized in the video, but we must watch his behavior and that of his agent.

“But I do not believe he will sign for Barcelona this summer.”
