Marco Verratti offer from Barcelona to will reportedly include €65M and midfielder Andre Gomes according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Ligue 1 giants do not want to let their influential midfielder leave, but it is understood Barca could also be tempted to include Ivan Rakitic, a player PSG coach Unai Emery knows well from their time together at Sevilla, in any possible deal.
Gomes only joined Barcelona last summer in a deal worth €35 million, plus a potential €20 million more depending on performances. The club also confirmedthe deal included incentives of up to €15 million should he win “multiple Ballon d’Or awards.”
However, the midfielder has failed to live up to his contractual billing, managing just three goals and one assist in 30 La Liga appearances, per WhoScored.com.
Per the report, Barcelona could also use Rakitic as part of the deal, and he recently told the Sportsman’s Club (h/t Marca) he would “love to” work with Emery again; the pair won the UEFA Europa League togetherin 2014.
However, the Croatian was far more influential at Barcelona than Gomes last season, and the Catalan giants may not want to allow the highest-scoring central midfielder in La Liga to leave.
