Arsenal prepares world record £95m bid for Mpabbe

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is prepared to make a statement in this summer’s transfer window as he plans a renewed attempt to sign AS Monaco hotshot Kylian Mbappe, reports arsenalfever.com.

This follows the revelation that Wenger had the opportunity to sign the boy for £230, 000 when he was out of contract last year, but the Monaco star rejected the move.

The France international had a standout campaign with the Principality club last term as they won the Ligue 1 crown in grand fashion while also reaching the last four of the Champions League.

Mbappe bagged an overall tally of 26 goals during the 2016/17 season, but it should be noted that most of his goals came only after the turn of the year.

According to The Express, Wenger is prepared to shatter the club’s transfer record by a huge margin as he looks to lure his fellow countrymen to the Emirates this summer.

The long-standing manager has been often reluctant tospend big money on his recruits, and this has hindered the Gunners’ quest to acquire a top-class player, who could lead the club to Premier League glory.

Arsene Wenger’s side recently made an initial £87 million approach to sign the teenage sensation last week, but their efforts were knocked back by AS Monaco, who are prepared to play hardball over their youngster.

However, this has not deterred the Gunners’ interest with a renewed world-record £95 million bid likely on the cards to sign a player, who is being dubbed as the new Thierry Henry.

Mbappe has had previous links with the north London club with Wenger having tried to lure him in a personal meeting last year, and it appears that the striker would prefer a move to the Emirates, should Monaco reach a transfer agreement.

French whiz-kid was out of contract last summer but Arsene Wenger failed to convince him to move to the Emirates.

The Gunners are reportedly ready to smash their record fee and break their wage structure to get Mbappe and convince Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to sign new deals.

Wenger revealed in March: “Well, I approached him lastyear because I really believe that he has an exceptional future ahead of him, that he has all the qualities.

“He reminds me of a young Thierry Henry with the same clever look about him, the same qualities of intelligence in his movements and cat-like finishing. So that’s why.

Mesut Ozil remains the Gunners’ most expensive player to date after having arrived from European champions Real Madrid for a £42.5m fee back in 2013.
