Barcelona and PSG are facing a massive cash penalty if they do a deal for Angel di Maria, it has been revealed.
Di Maria is ready to leave PSG this summer and is courting interest from Barca. The deal is being pushed by Barca ace Lionel Messi, who is close to his Argentina teammate.
Barca directors are open to the deal, but have discovered they must overcome a clause in Di Maria’s deal to sign the midfielder.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insisted on a penalty clause in the original transfer of Di Maria to Manchester United, which would mean €30 million coming to club should he be sold to Barca.
That clause remains in Di Maria’s deal at PSG, which leaves both the French giants and Barca having to negotiate knowing the price will see €30 million entering the coffers of Real.
