Marcus Rashford was the hero for Manchester United as they defeated Celta Vigo 1-0 in the Europa League first leg at the Estadio Balaidos to hand the Red Devils a first leg advantage.

Jose Mourinho named Daley Blind as partner for Eric Bailly in the heart of defence despite Chris Smalling returning from injury but Paul Pogba returns as Sergio Romero continues in goal for the United.

The manager of the home side, Eduardo Berizzo named a very attacking line-up with former Manchester City striker John Guidetti pairing ex-Liverpool forward Iago Aspas in attack

Celta had the first opportunity as Nemanja Radoja found Daniel Wass unmarked inside the box but he completely miss target with his effort as the away side escaped.

At the other end, Rashford collects a pass from Jesse Lingard and let’s fly from 22yards but Sergio Alvarez made a superb diving safe.

Some net play saw, Pogba slip a pass through to Henrikh Mkhitaryan but Alvarez races off his line and makes a top-drawer block. A quick-one-two between Rashford and Lingard saw the latter fire a shot straight at the goalkeeper as the first half ended goalless.
