UEFA Champions League quarterfinal draw: time and possible opponents

FC Barcelona will be aiming to book a spot in the 2016-2017 UEFA Champions League semifinal after pulling off the greatest comeback in UCL history to qualify for the quarterfinal of this year’s tournament. Although that task is still far from being achieved as they’re yet to know their rivals for the quarterfinal.

The draws for the quarterfinal clashes will be held today, Friday March 17 in Nyon at 12pm CET. Eight teams qualified for the round without seeds which means any team can meet any of the other seven clubs. The eight clubs qualified are Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Leicester City, AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund.

Due to the fact that these clubs are without seeds, Barça can meet any of the other seven clubs in the quarterfinal which means there could be a Clasico vs Madrid, a game vs Atléti, BVB, Juventus, Monaco, Bayern or English Champions Leicester City.

This round draws doesn’t exclude the possibility of two teams from the same country facing eachother as it was in the previous rounds before which means Bayern Munich can face BVB and Barça can face Real Madrid.
