Hostilities begin this weekend in Nigeria National League NNL. The second tier football league takes an abridged format tagged Northern and Southern Conference.
Chief Coach of Osun United Duke Udi recently named 31 man squad that will prosecute the league for Osun United, among them were the returnees Lekan Agunloye and Aleem Adebayo.
Udi disclosed that the team have undergone serial tests in the course of assembling and gelling the team as a unit, he further stated that the management and fans will not regret the confidence reposed in his tactical abilities.
Football followers in the state are expecting the team to brake their fallow grounds, in picking appreciable numbers of points away from home to better the teams’ chances of competing in elites division next term.
According to NNL Chief Operating Office, Mr Olapade, “the matches will be handled by tested and trusted officials, there are lots to look forward to in the forthcoming season.”
Ahead of the week one tie between Bayelsa United and Osun United, Omoluabi giants new import, Omoyele Tosin has disclosed to Soccernet.com.ng that his side are looking forward to the tie in far away ground.
“Our preparations were good and rigorous because, we worked harder in trainings, but we have to believe in our selves at this juncture.”
Omoyele who scored five goals for COD FC of Lagos in last NNL season stated further,
“we are determined to do the State proud, everything is possible with God on our side, we will not lose focus,” said the Lagos born attacker.
Believe nd Achieve gladiators will campaign in the southern conference, which comprises of Ikorodu United, Warri Wolves, Heartland FC, Gateway United, Crown FC, First Bank FC, Unicem Rovers, Bendel Insurance, Nnewi United, Abia Comets FC, AS Racine FC, Pappilo FC, Akwa Starlet, Delta Force, My People FC, Go Round FC and Bayelsa United.
