Super Eagles maintained their position in the latest FIFA rankings for March that was published on Thursday as the team remained 41st in the world and 7th in Africa.
The three-time Africa Champions, who are slated to play Senegal and Burkina Faso in an international friendly match in March 23rd and 27th respectively in London, could move higher if results go their way.
Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup rivals, Cameroon moved 32 from 33 position while Algeria and Zambia – sit in the 50th and 90th place respectively in the updated ranking.
Our main Nations Cup qualifying foes South Africa and Libya occupy the 62nd and 92nd position in the global ranking while the last opponent Seychelles are ranked 187th.
Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Tunisia are the best five teams in Africa in that order.
There was no changes in the top 10 positions in the world rankings as Argentina (1st) Brazil (2nd) Germany (3rd) Chile (4th) Belgium (5th) France (6th) Colombia (7th) Portugal (8th) Uruguay (9th) and Spain (10th) all remained unchanged.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com, on 6 April 2017.
