Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been dropped from his Manchester City side’s 21-man squad ahead of the start of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) knockout stage, which starts later this month.
Iheanacho was dropped from the A-list by the club to the B-list of the UCL though he could still featurein the competition. Registering Iheanacho as a B-List player creates an extra A-List spot for manager Pep Guardiola since he is eligible to play in all Champions League matches as a B-list player.
The B-list consists of players who have been part of a club for at least two years and are born in 1995 or later, basically the Academy kids. The same rule applies for Tosin Adarabioyo, who featured in a few group stage games while being on the B-list.
