Obafemi Martins scores hat-trick for Shenhua

Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins was in superb form on Thursday as he bagged a hat-trick in Shanghai Shenhua’s 5-0 demolition of YSCC Yokohama in a pre-season friendly.

On a day the world’s top earner Carlos Tevez was coming to town, Martins who is also Nigeria’s highest paid player was on hand to show just how good he is.

The duo of Zhu Jianrong and Mao Jianqing scored a goal each for Shanghai Shenhua, who are intensifying preparations for their first competitive game of 2017, an Asian Champions League tie in February.

Martins who ended the 2016 season with 15 goals ( 4 assists) will hope to improve on his numbers especially as he welcomes fresh challenges from Shanghai Shenhua’s new signings.
