Nigerian forward, Victor Anichebe opened his goal account for Sunderland in his first Premier League start this season in their 2-1 comeback win to AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
England midfielder, Dan Gosling open scores for the host 11 minutes into the game, Anichebe equalized for The Black Cats in the 33rd minute; he was later brought down in the box, and Jermain Defoe converted the penalty in the 74th minute, to end the game 2-1 at full time.
Sunderland was reduced to 10-men when South Africa midfielder, Steven Pienaar received a red card midway into the second half in the 59th minute. However, Anichebe was on for the entire duration of the match, as he helped the David Moyes side to their first win of the season after 11 Premier League games.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old forward joined Sunderland early this season after parting ways with former club West Bromwich Albion.
