Luis Suárez wins La Liga World Player 2015/2016 |
After a long and fascinating season, FC Barcelona were finally crowned La Liga champions for the 2015/2016, their second consecutive title.
La Liga have now performed the ceremony so celebrate and honour certain individuals who did outstandingly well in the Spanish division for 2015/2015, handing out the official league awards for the season.
Gérard Piqué surprisingly lost the best defender award to Diego Godin but the hilarious thing is that he wasn’t even nominated for the award as Godin, Marcelo and Ramos were the finalists. Luis Enrique also missed out on the best coach award to Diego Simeone and didn’t get nominated as Celta Vigo’s Berizzo and former Villarreal manager Marcelino joined the Atleti boss as finalists.
Sergio Busquets was nominated for the best midfielder award alongside Robert Soriano and Luka Modric but he lost out to the Real Madrid midfielder.
Luis Suárez won the award for La Liga World Player of 2015/2016 but was beaten by Lionel Messi for the best striker award. Both player lost out to Griezmann for the Player of the Year award.
