Barcelona announce 2016/2017 UCL squad |
FC Barcelona have named a total of 30 players in their squad for the 2016/2017 UEFA Champions League season.
The Catalan club took to their official website to announce that they have submitted a list of 30 players to be included by UEFA as part of the Barcelona squad for the 2016/2017 Champions League season. All 30 players will be eligible to represent Barça in the competition and it features the entire 22 first team players plus 8 players from Barcelona B – José Suárez, Wilfried Kaptoum, Carles Aleñá, Cardona, Carbonell, Nili, Marlon, and Sergi Palencia.
Jose Suárez, Wilfried Kaptoum, Carles Aleña, Carbonell and Sergi Palencia are part of the category called “List B”, which may include any player “born on, or after, January 1st, 1995 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be registered if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years),” according to UEFA.com.
“Clubs are entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season, but the list must be submitted by no later than 24:00 CET the day before a match,” reads UEFA.com as stipulated in FC Barcelona’s official website fcbarcelona.com.
Apart from these 5 players, the other 25 are players in List A. The full list can be seen below in ascending order of their Jersey numbers.
