Ex international, Mutiu Adepoju has described the
appointment of Genort Rohr as the technical adviser of the Super Eagles
as a welcome development which will help the team regain their flying
wings in Africa and world football.
Rohr was appointed Nigeria’s coach in August by the Nigeria
Football Federation and has been saddled with the responsibility of
qualifying the team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mutiu, a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994
Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, told soccernet.com.ng that Rohr’s
would have a huge impact with the team and restore their lost glory.
“I have this believe that the Nigeria Football Federation
has done their best to hire German tacticians, Genort Rohr for the Super
Eagles and I know that he will work endlessly to make the team fly
again,” Adopoju told soccernet.com.ng.
“Rohr as far as I am concern isn’t a bad manager going by
his records and I blive if we can support him wholeheartedly, he will
achieve some of the targets giving to him by the NFF.
” It’s just a matter of understanding the Nigerian culture
and device a means whereby he(Rohr) can have a blend of quality players
that will help him qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.” he said.
