Real Madrid Gets A Perfect Start

By Symbol Chimere

The galacticos named a fairly strong lineup against Real Soceidad, handing debuts to Marco Asensio, and Alvaro Morata making it a second one for the latter.

It didn’t take long for the Blancos to open the scoring, Gareth Bale nodding home a Dani Carvajal cross to continue his record of always being on target at the Anoeta in only just the 2nd minute. Real saw majority of the ball with Soceidad sticking to counter attacks and trying to win the ball when the real backline have it, the first chance for the home team fell to Illaramendi who decided to square the ball to no one in particular.

Alvaro Morata was constant thorn in the flesh of the Soceidad defense, creating a number of chances if anyone deserved a goal it would be Morata, Real finally got their second goal from one of the debut boys and no it wasn’t Morata, Marco Asensio was found with a lovely ball over the top from Raphael Varane which he did justice to by lobbing the keeper.

The second half continued in similar fashion with Real dominating the game creating a number of half chance, Alvaro Morata was booked for what was seen to be a dive in the box, Toni Kroos was gifted a chance to increase the lead when Morata’s shot wasn’t  properly dealt with but he could only hit the crossbar. Real brought on James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez and Isco for Morata, Asensio and Kroos respectively.

The home team had claims for a penalties which the referee dismissed as there wasn’t enough contact on both occasions, Sergio Ramos and Yuri were both booked after an altercation that involved Marcelo and Lucas Vasquez after a foul on Bale. James saw he shot pushed wide by the keeper before he eventually set Bale up in added time for the third.

Real never really got out of first gear, they didn’t have a reason to, Soceidad never looked like a threat throughout the course of the game. Perfect way to begin the campaign with three points and a clean sheet

Man of the match: Casemiro. Casemiro is my man of the match, his passing was good, he seemed to always be in the right place at the right time, tackled very well in fact he is the reason Soceidad couldn’t play, he was full of energy and went about breaking up their play and snuffing out any ideas of creating chances.
