Barcelona release official squad shirt numbers for 2016/2017

FC Barcelona official 2016/2017 squad shirt numbers
FC Barcelona have officially released the official shirt numbers of the squad for the 2016/2017 season as they look to present the entire available squad in their final friendly game of the preseason campaign on Wednesday.
The Catalan club will host Italian side Sampdoria in the Joan Gamper trophy at the Camp Nou on Wednesday and prior to the game, they took to their official website to announce the shirt numbers of every squad member of the club for the upcoming season and there are a number of noticeable additions.
Following the departure of legendary defender Dani Alves, the Number 6 Jersey was destined to fall into a new hand and the iconic shirt formerly graced by Xavi Hernandez will be worn by Denis Suarez who rejoined the club this summer after two years playing for Sevilla and Villarreal. The 22-year old attacker wore the number throughout Barça’s preseason and will continue playing with the shirt on for the 2016/2017 season.
New signings Samuel Umtiti and Andre Gomes officially joined training on Monday and they will both wear Jersey numbers 23 and 21 respectively, numbers formerly graced by Thomas Vermaelen and Adriano Correia who both left the club this summer. Fellow new signing Lucas Digne will wear the number 19 Jersey which was worn by Sandro Ramirez last season.
Newly promoted midfielder Sergi Samper will wear the number 16 Jersey as the 21-year old look to kick start his senior Barça career after spending more than a decade on the junior ranks.
All numbers from 1 to 25 have been filled up except for the number 15, and it is logical to say the number will be graced by the fourth forward FC Barcelona are currently searching for in the ongoing summer transfer window.
