Alcacer to Barça literally done |
FC Barcelona have been handed a very huge transfer boost to sign Valencia striker Paco Alcacer after the 22-year old was left out of Valencia’s squad to face Eibar in their second La Liga game of this season amid speculations linking him with Barça.
There have been strong reports over the past few days suggesting that Paco Alcacer to Barça is as good as done with Madrid source Cadena COPE stating that it could be officially announced on Monday. Doubts arose when Alcacer was named in Valencia’s 19-man squad to face Eibar but they all have been cleared after coach Pako Ayestaran left the Spaniard out of the final 18-player team to play Eibar. He didn’t start the game and didn’t make the bench.
This decision by Ayestaran strikes a strong mark in the speculations and it is getting clearer and clearer that Alcacer is off to Barcelona to be the fourth striker of the Catalan club.
The saga has been one of the most dragged this summer, Valencia owner Peter Lim is supportive of the deal that will see Alcacer move to Barça as the offer is a big one, the club have financial problems and the fee of €30million offered by Barça would go a long way in solving it.
The reason the deal hasn’t been confirmed before now was because it was only Peter Lim and Alcacer that gave their OK to the deal, Valencia president Lay Hoon Chan, sporting director Suso Garcia Pitarch, coach Pako Ayestaran and the fans want the player to stay as they see him as an emblem of the club, but it now seems like it is done.
Valencia are currently searching the market for a replacement according to various sources and it is very likely that Barcelona’s young striker Munir El Haddadi will be moving the other way. The striker will definitely leave the club as soon as Alcacer arrives, he has been linked with Celta Vigo also but it looks like Valencia are the front runners for his signature.
If Alcacer joins, he’ll be Barça’s 6th signing of the summer, nothing official yet still, until then.
