Federation Cup: Enyimba FC, Rivers United, Wikki Tourist Target Semi Final Berth

Reigning
Premier League champions, Enyimba will look to overcome a rejuvenated RiversUnited side in the quarter final of the Federation Cup at the Lekan Salami
Stadium, Ibadan, on Wednesday.

Having
won the FA Cup four times, the Peoples’ Elephant who have been experiencing a
contrasting form recently must avoid conceding early against a Rivers United
team that have been defensively solid at the back.
The
Aba Warriors edged out Julius Atete 1-0 thanks to Ezekiel Bassey’s late goal in
the previous round while Rivers United defeated Shooting Stars 3-1 via penalty
shootouts.
Meanwhile,
NPFL leaders, Wikki Tourist face a stiff challenge against ‘giant

The
Ogbomosho outfit stunned top-flight side, Enugu Rangers 2-1 in Cup round of 16
tie in Kaduna while the Bauchi outfit benched top-flight newcomers, Plateau
United 1-0 in Akure to set the tone for the battle for a semifinals ticket.
A
win for the 2012 quarterfinalists against Wikki Tourists will see the side inch
further to the semis to realising their lofty dream for a shot at the continent
through the Cup platform.
