Champions League: Emenike Scores Brace For Fenerbache

By Augustine Akhilomen
Retired Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike was at his best mettle as he scored two goals in Fenerbache’s 2-1 win over Monaco in Wednesday’s first leg playoff of the UEFA Champions League at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
The former West Ham player netted the opening in the 39th minute with a calm finish before Monaco’s Radamel Falcao equalised for the visiting team in the 43rd minute.
However, Emenike ensured the host took a goal advantage to the second leg as he scored in the 61st minute to the delight of the coaching crew and fans at the stadium.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile was conspicuously missing as he wasn’t dressed for that encounter.
