FC Barcelona have signed Lucas Digne from PSG according to reports |
FC Barcelona have closed a deal to sign French left back Lucas Digne from Paris-Saint Germain with the player likely to be presented officially as a new player on Thursday, according to Barcelona-based source TV3.
Reports over the past few weeks have linked Barça with a move for the 22-year old as they look for a left-back to ease Jordi Alba’s role at the club. German player Hector Moreno have been heavily linked in the past couple of days but it now seems like Lucas Digne will be the next Barcelona signing.
FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Samuel Umtiti from Lyon after signing
Denis Suarez from Villarreal earlier, the club are looking for a left-back to become their third signing of the summer and according to TV3 and Mundo Deportivo, Lucas Digne may even be presented on Thursday before Umtiti whose presentation is scheduled for Friday.
Nothing has been made official yet and no fee has been stated although the players release clause is €16 million. His arrival means the departure of defender Adriano Correia is almost certain, with AS Roma knocking on the door for the Brazilian.
Digne joined PSG from Lille in 2013 and he made 30 league appearances for the French champions before joining AS Roma on loan last summer where he played an integral part in the progress of the Italians. He featured in 29 league games for Roma in 2015/2016 but the club are finding it hard to sign him on a permanent deal.
Lucas Digne has 14 caps for the French national team and was part of the squad for the Euro 2016 tournament but he played no part. He was one of the key players alongside Paul Pogba and Samuel Umtiti that helped France win the Under-20 World Cup in 2013.

nice move
He is good. Happy
He will definitely be a good cover for Jordi Alba. Good both in attack and in defence.
