The Nigeria Premier League is the highest
level of domestic football in Nigeria and provides the perfect opportunity for
Nigeria’s up and coming stars to impress, in order to get potential call ups
for the Africa Cup of Nations and possibly even the 2018 Russia World Cup.
The
Nigerian Premier League has been won most recently by Enyimba, who have now
won the league a total of seven times. The League has also been won by Rangers
International six times, Shooting Stars five times and Iwuanyanwu
Nationale/Heartland five times over the years.
Playing in domestic leagues and

Champions League/African Super Cup
The African Champions League and African
Super Cup could give up and coming Nigerian stars a taste of international
football for the first time through their clubs, as they face other African
teams in competitive fixtures. Young players could benefit from this
opportunity massively and take any experience built from this to an even bigger
level in the African Cup Of Nations or the 2018 Fifa World Cup in the future.

Nigeria qualified to the second round of
qualifiers after
beating
Swaziland 2-0, and up and coming players would do well to gain experience
through the qualifiers and potentially prove themselves to make the national
team for the World Cup if Nigeria were to make it through. Efe Ambrose and
Moses Simon were the two goal scorers in the match against Swaziland, but the need
for Ambrose might become redundant, as he reaches the age of 30 in time for the
