Lionel Messi’s 10 unbreakable records

Lionel Messi – 10 Unbreakable Records
It’s 24th June, the birthday of the greatest football player ever, he turns 29 today and continues his illustrious career breaking and creating records.
It is sad news for the entire footballing world that the best player to ever touch a football is actually ageing, but we all ought to enjoy his greatness while it last, we will not see another player like Lionel Messi ever again, maybe not ‘ever’ but I’m very sure of the next 250 years.
Lionel Messi, easily the best player in the history of football, is well known for smashing records, what is more fascinating about this fact is that he doesn’t struggle to smash these records and it always seem as if the records are in a queue in heaven begging God to be the next to get broken by Messi.
We all know Lionel Messi has broken around 250 million records, but because we’re not machines, we’ll only – today – present to you 10 records of Lionel Messi that looks unbreakable. Do not bash us for giving you 10 as no one can count or mention all Messi’s records because they’re as plentiful as the sands of the seashore, be contented, grab a popcorn and enjoy this ‘little’ 10 records of King Leo.
10 RECORDS OF LIONEL MESSI THAT ARE UNBREAKABLE

1. FOUR CONSECUTIVE BALLON D’OR AWARDS, 5 IN TOTAL

The comma there shows you two records, of course only Lionel Messi can have two records merged in one. Winning a Ballon d’Or award is one thing, so many players have it in their cupboard, winning more than one Ballon d’Or is another thing, so many players also have this is their CV, winning Ballon d’Or three times is a stuff of legends, few players can boast of that, but hello… winning Ballon d’Or 4 times is another thing entirely, and winning it consecutively makes me think it’s something that happened with the help of some voodoo powers from ancient Indian temples.
Messi made the Ballon d’Or podium at just 19 years of age, he decided not to win it until he’s 21 just to respect the value of the award. The half-man-half-god won it in 2009 and developed his only form of greed by not allowing anyone else to win for FOUR CONSECUTIVE YEARS.. he was close to making it five in five but let’s not talk about what happened in the 2013 Ballon d’Or award.
The amazing thing about this is than Messi does not value individual honours, but at the same time he doesn’t like leading the second spot with just one level. He had 4 Ballon d’Or awards and some other players had three so he decided to just increase the gap by one more and he won his 5th Ballon d’Or as a 28-year old, and it looks like his 6th will be coming in 6 months time. *sighs*
2. 50 LA LIGA GOALS IN A SINGLE SEASON

Lionel Messi scored 50 goals in the 2011/2012 La Liga season. Something that has never happened in a top league since the Noah-ark incident. Some players get 50 goals in their entire career, some get 50 in multiple seasons. Messi got 50 in less than 3420 minutes, and he didn’t do it with much stress. He had a bad injury the next season so he ‘only’ scored 46. Oh.
3. 73 CLUB GOALS IN A SINGLE SEASON

2011/2012 saw Lionel Messi scored 73 goals for his club alone. He scored 73 goals.. 73!!! In one season, not 3 years.
4. 91 GOALS IN A CALENDAR YEAR FOR CLUB AND COUNTRY (GUINNESS WORLD RECORD)

Some players are great goalscorers, they score a lot of goals. We’ve seen the likes of Pele, Eusebio, Di Stefano, Puskas, Ronaldo Nazario, Gerd Muller, Romario, Batistuta… so many fantastic goalscorers, we still have them now.. Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Lewandowski… but in 2012 we saw a player, a goalscorer which the world have never seen and 100% will never see again, Lionel Messi.
Most of these legendary goalscorers mentioned above crave goals, they are goal-mongers whose sole job is to score goals and that is why they have such large number of goals. Lionel Messi is different right now, he does almost everything for the team but somehow matches others when it comes to number of goals scored. He doesn’t crave goals, isn’t selfish, donates penalties but somehow he is among the top scorers.. the only Messi that we’ve seen that craved goals was the Messi of 2012 and then he showed he’s the greatest goalscorer ever.
Lionel Messi was injury-free that year, although he still was not selfish, he netted 91 times. A record in football’s history, he broke Gerd Muller’s record that spent more than 40 years. It is unreal! Nowadays, we don’t see Messi trying to score goals by all means, so he just manages a meagre 50+ goals.
5. MOST GOALS AND MOST ASSISTS OF A TOP EUROPEAN LEAGUE

There are goalscorers and there are playmakers, assists providers.. Lionel Messi is the most complete footballer in history, he’s has both abilities in unreal quantity. He is 29 and has 312 goals and 127 assists in La Liga making him the player with most goals and most assists (as far as stats could go) in the history of La Liga. Fantastic.
6. ONLY PLAYER TO SCORE IN 6 DIFFERENT OFFICIAL CLUB COMPETITIONS IN A YEAR TWICE

Messi became the only player to score in six different official club competitions in 2009, but FC Barcelona players are sometimes stubborn so Pedro Rodriguez joined him after the Spaniard did it in 2011. But like I said earlier, the only greedy side of Lionel Messi is sharing records so he did it again in 2015 to become to only player to achieve this on two occasions, scoring in La Liga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey and FIFA Club World Cup.
7. 9 CONSECUTIVE BALLON D’OR TOP 3 APPEARANCES

This record makes me laugh. How can someone be a 9-season wonder? Nine consecutive seasons without falling off the top three for the Best player in the World award. If we analyze it as FIFA World Player of the Year/Ballon d’Or award then Lionel Messi has never taken anything less than second position since he was 19 in 2007. The next highest is 5 consecutive appearances. Messi has N-I-N-E 9!
8. MOST CONSECUTIVE LEAGUE MATCHES SCORED IN (21)

In 2012-2013, Lionel Messi scored against all teams in Spanish La Liga, scoring against them consecutively. It was a case of ‘Barça are already (at least) 1-0 up at kickoff’ because it was sure Messi will score. He played 21 games and scored in all of them, a total of 33 goals, no team escaped him.
Messi is like a video game career mode where you’ll like to try new things, so he just decided to set this record. It wasn’t a record before, Messi set this one. It won’t be broken even after the world ends.
9. YOUNGEST PLAYER TO WIN 3 BALLON D’OR AWARDS

Lionel Messi won his first Ballon d’Or award at 21, and at 24 years, 6 months and 17 days he had won 3 Ballon d’Or awards. The best 24-year old player in the world right now is Neymar and he has just one podium appearance where he finished third. The closest in terms of Ballon d’Or awards won is Cristiano Ronaldo and he has 3, he’s 31, Messi had three when he was 7 years younger. Unreal.
10. MOST GOALS AND ASSISTS FOR BARCELONA, MOST GOALS AND ASSISTS FOR ARGENTINA

Lionel Messi is the only player that can score the most number of goals for a club and still provide the most number of goals for that same club and still score the most number of goals for his country and still provide the most number of goals for that same country. There is nothing like this anywhere else.
Messi has 481 career goals (453 official goals) for FC Barcelona, the most by any player ever, 178 career assists for Barcelona, the most by any player ever, 55 career goals for Argentina, the most by any player ever, 35 career assists for Argentina, the most by any player ever (assists as far as stats could go). Messi is Messi, others are footballers.
Lionel Messi has nothing to prove to anyone that he’s the best player ever, his unreal numbers are the least things that can show how great he is as a player. If you want to enjoy Messi and see his greatness in full swing, just ignore his numbers and watch him.. just watch him and you’ll witness greatness on the pitch.. like an angel touching a football.. words can’t describe his legend.. Happy Birthday to the King, happy birthday Lionel Messi.
