Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo will be given a chance to prove himself in the Chelsea first team next season by new coach Antonio Conte.
The 22-year-old central defender has always been sent on loan since signing for the former English champions in 2012.
A top source told AfricanFootball.com that the 2013 AFCON winning defender will be allowed to play some matches by new coach Antonio Conte to prove himself.
“Kenneth will be with the Chelsea squad for the early part of pre-season at least, because the new manager wants to give him and a few other players opportunities to prove themselves,” the source informed.
“No decision has been reached yet whether he will goon loan but the prospect of him staying looks good this time.”
Omeruo spent last season on loan at Turkish club Kasimpasa having spent previous seasons on loan at ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough.
