Wifred Ndidi wins ‘Goal of the Season’ award

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi’s has emerged as the winner of the Goal of the season award in Belgium following his wonder strike  for Genk against champions Club Brugge in the just ended season.
It was a goal worthy of winning any football game as the 19-year-old Ndidi let fly a screamer with awesome technique from 30 yards to leave the Club Brugge goalkeeper stranded on his lines.
Apart from winning the award for the best goal Ndidi narrowly missed out on the Young Player of the Year in Belgium as he was only named runners-up for that category.
In what is his first full season in Belgium, the defender-turned-defensive midfielder made appearances in 36 league games and scored four goals as Genk qualified to feature in the qualifying tournament for next season’s UEFA Europa League.
