Injury rules Navas out of Copa America

Costa Rica will be without Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas for this summer’s Copa America Centenario due to an Achilles injury, FEDEFUTBOL have announced.
Nava suffered from tendinopathy in his left foot – a recurrence of the problem that saw him miss the penultimate La Liga game of the season against Valencia.
The Real Madrid number one will now be replaced by Deportivo Saprissa goalkeeper Danny Carvajal.
Navas who was ruled out of the CONCACAF Gold Cup last year for the same injury will now see a specialist to deal with his latest setback.
The 29-year-old now joins striker Ariel Rodriguez on the sidelines and that represents a huge blow to Costa Rica, who have been drawn alongside the United States, Paraguay and Colombia in Group A.
Costa Rica play their opening game of the tournament against Paraguay on June 4.
