Iheanacho scores brace as Man City lose to Southampton
Nigerian youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho netted a brace for Man City, but the goals were not good enough as they lost 4-2 to Southampton in their Premier League Week 36 clash at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.
Republic of Ireland attacker, Shane Long opened scoring for the Saints in the 25th minute; Sadio Mane doubled the lead in the 28th minute, before Iheanacho reduced the tally for the visitors in the 44th minute to leave score-line 2-1 at half time.
Sadio Mane completed the rout with a hat-trick in the second half, scoring in the 57th and 68th minutes respectively, Iheanacho scored his second in the 78th minute, as the game ended 4-1 in favour of Southampton.
The 19-year-old Nigerian was in action for the entire duration of the match. He has so far scored seven goals in his five league starts and a total of 13 goals in all competition for the Citizens in the ongoing season in England.
