NPFL: MFM back to winning ways as they beat Wikki

A toe-poked first half goal by Stephen Odey was enough for hosts MFM FC to beat  Wikki Tourists in a Nigeria league match on Friday night.

The result has catapulted MFM to fourth place on the table with 19 points from 12 matches, while Wikki drop to seventh on 16 points.

Odey superb finish started by pocket-sized dynamo Emmanuel Onuwa after 34 minutes gave the Lagos club a deserved win at the Agege Stadium.

MFM created several chances, but that was the only chance they put away.

The win saw them snap out of a run of five matches during which they have failed to win.

The energetic Sikiru Olatubosun  spurned a good number of these openings.

“We lost a lot of chances, but I am happy we are back to winning ways,” said MFM coach Francis Ilechukwu after the match.
