Colombian star striker Radamel Falcao of Chelseahas indicated interest in representing his South American nation at the Rio 2016 Olympics later this year thus facing the Nigerian U-23 team, Dream Team VI, at the tournament.
Colombia are in Group B at the football tournament of Rio 2016 Olympics alongside Nigeria, Sweden and Japan. He made this known in a chat with Fox Sports. In his words, Falcao said: “Yes I said before I would like to be part of the Olympics games but it not only depends on me.”
On his future, the former Atlético Madrid, River Plate and FC Porto striker, who is presently on loan at Premier League champions Chelsea from French club AS Monaco, said: “I don’t know. I am not thinking about next season. When the season is finished I start to think about that but I don’t know, we have four more games left. I would like to play more minutes.”
“The experience in [England] has been a little bit tough. It has not been easy because I couldn’t playconstantly like I wanted to. “I will still fight for an opportunity to play and I am waiting for that. These last couple of years have allowed me to be better in another ways. I am happy for that,” he concluded.
