NPFL Results: Rangers pound Plateau United, Abia Warriors gun down El-Kanemi

Abia Warriors 2-1 El-Kanemi Warriors
Michael Olaha came off the bench to score the winner as Abia Warriors overcome ten man El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 win in a Match Day 2 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Chisom “The Kolanut Boy“ Chikatara slotted home the lead for the homers in the 4th minute but Ladan Bosso-led visitors, who finished the game with ten men,  surprised many five minutes later when Ibrahim Mustapha and Ohanachom Chinedu combined well to draw level.
But Olaha would settle proceedings with his fine winner with 10 minutes of play left.
Rangers 3-1 Plateau United
A second half onslaught saw Rangers International come from a goal down to beat visiting Plateau United 3-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday evening. United drew the first blood by taking a shock 8th minute lead.
But goals from Togaba Komlan, Nnamdi Anyasodo and a third by Chisom Egbuchulam ensured Rangers first three points of the season.
Lobi Stars 2-1 Sunshine Stars
In the battle of the stars, Lobi Stars recorded their second win in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League with Anthony Okpotu’s brace in the high tension match at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
A goal in each half sandwiched in between a fine Emmanuel Sunday equalizer was all Lobi needed to move to the top of the NPFLeague.
Warri Wolves 1-0 Kano Pillars
A thrilling end-to-end game in Warri was settled in added-time of the second half as a last gasp Itoya effort gave Warri Wolves a lone goal victory over Pillars.
With the game in the last minute of added time (5), Yusuf Mohammed again spilled a shot from substitute Achibi Ewenike but this time Kelvin Itoya was handy to happily slot home the rebound sending the close to two thousand fans at the stadium into wild frenzy.
