Chuba Akpom Fires Hat-trick In FA Cup Showdown


Nigeria-born England striker, Chuba Amechi Akpom was the hero as he scored hat-trick for Championship club, Hull City in their 3-1 away victory to League One side, Bury FC in the English FA Cup tie decided on Saturday.

Akpom, who is currently on loam from Arsenal scored first for Hull in the 14th minute, and added the second from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. The 20-year-old striker completed his hat-trick for The Tigers in the 69th minute, Craig Jones scored Bury’s Consolatory goal in the 86th minute, as the game ended 3-1 at regulation time.

The young and vibrant striker has been on loan to clubs like Brentford FC, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest since joining the Gunners senior team in 2013.

He has featured for the English national U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 teams respectively. Two other Nigerian players, Omatsone Aluko and Kelvin Etuhu were also in action. Aluko lasted 85 minutes for Hull, while Etuhu tasted just 10 minutes action for Bury in the home encounter.
