We are ready for Algeria – Siasia

Head coach of the Dream Team, Samson Siasia has disclosed that his team will go into Saturday’s final game against Algeria in a more relaxed mood after already qualifying for next year’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Speaking at the last pre-match press conference at the Leopold S. Senghor Stadium, Dakar, a calm Siasia said he is very happy to be in the finals adding that “it has been a very long journey, with a lot of ups and downs, some good games and some bad ones that we have actually learnt from.”

“I guess we have not scored 2 goals again since our last game we played 2-2, the boys have improved in the back line, I think we still need to do a better job playing tomorrow against Algeria, we know them very well we have watched their videos, we have seen them play, and we are now more relaxed because we have the ticket to go to Rio, I think we are going to have a better game, the fans will enjoy themselves “

On what his main objective was before the final, coach Siasia had this to say ” it is true the journey was to qualify for the Olympics, with that taken care of, we will endeavour to improve on our play on the pitch in every department especially where we have had lapses since the beginning of the tournament, our target now is to go home with the cup.” Siasia concluded.

On his part, Dream Team captain Azubuike Okechukwu dismissed insinuations that the players are under pressure to win the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations but that they will ensure they do the country proud.
