Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala is ruing the knee injury that stopped her from scoring more goals for Liverpool Ladies this season in the English Women Super League.
“The injury I suffered against Notts County really affected my chances to do better for my team because I wanted to score lots of goals in my debut season with the Liverpool team but the injury really limited me to few appearances and I could only score three goals.
“I shall be back in January after regaining fitness. Hopefully this time, I’ll do it my way,” the Africa Women Footballer of the Year told Complete Sports.
Speaking on the Liverpool’s men team and the outstanding run the Reds have had with new manager Jurgen Klopp, Oshoala added:
“The team is doing well at the moment and I hope the good results continue. I think the players warmed up to him because aside from being a good coach, he has good relationship with them. I hope the team qualify for the Champions League.”
Oshoala missed the All Africa Games due to the injury.
