Sporting Lisbon After Two Nigerian Youngsters

Sporting Clube de Portugal, Lisbon have set the ball rolling in their bid to seal a move for Golden Eaglets stars Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen, this is according to allnigeriasoccer.com.

Both players won individual awards at the recently concluded FIFA Under 17 World Cup, with skipper Nwakali picking up the prestigious Golden Ball accolade and Osimhen winning the Golden Boot after scoring in every single game contested by the Golden Eaglets at the tourney.

Clubs in England, including Arsenal and Chelsea, have been keeping tabs on the pair after their impressive showing in Chile but no formal bid has been received as yet.

And the English Premier League teams could pay a price for dragging their feet, with Sporting Clube de Portugal weighing up a move for the Nigerian starlets and have told the players’ intermediaries to name their price and conditions.

Italian Serie A side Udinese have shown the most serious interest in signing Nwakali and there is a strong likelihood that The Little Zebras may win the race for his signature due to new regulations regarding work permits in England.
