Akpom Delighted With England Under 21 Call Up



Hull City striker Chuba Akpom was pleased to have been called up to the England Under 21 national team for the first time in his career.
The 19 – year – old has registered his name on the scoresheet 17 times in total for the England youth teams – Under 16, 17,19 and 20 – but has been promoted to the Under 21s after his fine start to the season.
“Buzzing to get my first England U21s call up and good luck to the boys tonight #CapitalOneCup #hcafc,” Chuba Akpom said on Twitter.[post_ad]
Manager Gareth Southgate has also invited fellow Anglo – Nigerians Dominic Iorfa , Dele Alli and Jordon Ibe for a friendly against USA and a Euro qualifier against Norway in September.
Akpom and his Hull City teammate Sone Aluko were rested for Tuesday’s Capital Cup tie against Rochdale.
