The Catalans have been recognised as the most popular sports team in the world on social media beating off competition from Real Madrid and Manchester United

FC Barcelona have been labelled the most popular sports team on social media in 2015 by Forbes.

In an official list released by Forbes, the Catalans pose an astonishing 100.9 million followers across Facebook and Twitter, topping the list over rival Real Madrid and EPL giant Manchester United who lie in third spot.

In the top 10 features nine European football teams with LA Lakers spoiling a clean sweep party for the beautiful game.
