Record Breaker Douglas Pereira Makes History

2014/2015 was indeed a glorious season for FC Barcelona and it’s players as records were broken and history made by not only the elite stars but also the ‘considered-to-be-small’ players

Over the course of the season, numerous records were broken and created by many Barca stars, billions by Messi, millions by Neymar and Co. but this time, it is Barca’s Brazilian asset, Douglas Pereira who is in the limelight.

The former Sao Paulo man has broken a record not even Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Maradona could break.

After the Champions League triumph, Douglas became the first and only non-European player in football’s history to win a treble during his first season in Europe. Sounds weird but it’s true.

The right-back joined Barcelona from Sao Paulo last summer and has been considered by Barca fans all over the world as a ‘flop transfer.’

The star, however, was part of Barcelona’s treble-winning squad though did not feature in a handsome number of times for the Blaugrana and failed to impress the few times he was called upon.

Rumours have been flying around about a move away from the Camp Nou but before that, ENJOY THE SHOW LORD DOUGLAS! Cules love you!
