Neymar: I Won’t Change The Way I Play. I’ll Dribble To Help The Team

The Barcelona youngster received some criticism after his Rainbow flick against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa final. The 23-year old has however expressed his feelings saying he will continue to play his style no matter what or how others feel.

In the dying stages of the Copa del Rey final final clash, when Barca were almost certain to be crowned Champions, Neymar pulled off a skillful samba rainbow flick to beat a defender which the Athletic players and fans didn’t find pleasant.

They almost started a fight but Neymar quietly walked away from the scene under the security of other Barca players.

After the game, Athletic Bilbao’s players condemned that act labelling it “Childish and Showboasting.” Even Luis Enrique and Gerard Pique did not sound impressed with the Brazilian’s show.

However, Neymar has spoken publicly about his style of play saying nothing can change him.
“That’s my game. People know how I play, I won’t change my style, I’ll continue to help my team, be it by assisting, scoring or dribbling.” the winger told FCB in a press conference when questioned about the incident.

Neymar also went on to praise his two attacking teammates saying their relationship on and off the pitch has been excellent.
“Messi and Suarez are extraordinary players, with extremely high quality. The main factor is our friendship on and off the field.” he said.

The Barca number 11 was also questioned about the Champions League final which he said is a dream come true.
“It’s a final I’ve dreamed so much about. This is the best moment of my life. I hope that I can kiss the trophy tomorrow.”

Neymar didn’t hide his desire to score in the final but insists winning the title is the main aim.
“Of course I would love to score. I hope I can but the most important thing is to become Champions even if Pique score. (laughs)”

Neymar went on to praise Juventus’ goalkeeper Buffon saying he is a fan of the italian after the goalie earlier revealed Neymar was the favourite player of one of his children.
“Buffon is one of the best goalkeepers in history. I used to use my PlayStation to play as him, I am a great fan of his.” He enthused.

Both players will go head to head in the UCL Final in Berlin on Saturday.
