Actions resume yet again in the Nigeria Premier League this weekend as matches are slated to be played in designated venues across the country.
Week 8 round of matches in the Glo NPFL have been scheduled to kick off on Sunday 10th May 2015 as all the 20 teams in the top flight slug it out each for the three points on offer.
In Jalingo, Taraba FC, huge in confidence after an inspiring two all draw away at Sharks last weekend, will try to dent the ambitions of high-flying Ifeanyi Uba. The second placed Uba Boys have not lost any of their last three matches – which includes the humiliation of Enyimba- and know they can end the day on top of the log if they better Giwa’s results in Aba.

It’s the battle of first and sixth on Sunday as Enyimba International face off against league leaders Giwa FC. With only three points separating the two sides on the NPFL table, a big win for the Aba Elephants will see them leap frog Giwa on the table. Enyimba risk losing two games in a row though after succumbing to a defeat at Ifeanyi Uba in the last round.
Lobi Stars continue their search for a first win of the season at home to El-Kanemi Warriors, after going seven games without a victory. El-Kanemi can count on the same squad that defeated Akwa United eight days in what promises to be an intriguing encounter.
Dolphins travel to Yenagoa to keep a date with Bayelsa United. The hosts can’t seem to be able to win games either at home or away and will seek to buckle that trend against the former FA Cup champions.
Akwa United play hosts to Sharks FC as the two Southerners slug it out for points that will improve their league standings.
It’s the battle of the Eastern giants where Rangers International of Enugu unleash their arsenal on Heartland of Owerri in one of the biggest matches of the weekend.
3SC, impressive in their midweek defeat of Warri Wolves, travel to Ondo to hunt Sunshine Stars in a mouth-watering Western derby.
In Delta, Warri Wolves will look to send Nasarawa United back to Lafia empty-handed, a game that won’t be easy for the Seasiders who face a Nasarawa side not short on confidence after their 2-0 whipping of Abia Warriors last week.
9th placed Abia Warriors will square up against 7th-placed Kwara United hoping to garner the maximum points that will see them overtake the Afonja Warriors on the league standings.
In the last match of the day, Kano Pillars will seek to rebuild their image, tarnished in Ilorin last weekend, when they host high-scoring Wikki Tourists at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. The defending champions have already lost twice in a row and will aim to avoid repeating same so early in the season.
All matches come up at 4pm Nigerian time on Sunday, 10th May 2015.
