Nigerian and Cologne forward Anthony Ujah has agreed to join Werder Bremen at the end of the season. The transfer fee remains undisclosed but it is believed that the transfer was sealed after his release clause was triggered.

FC Cologne confirmed Ujah’s move on Tuesday morning declaring that the former Mainz striker has decided to join Werder Bremen at the end of the current campaign. The 24-year-old striker has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Bremen until 2019.
The Nigerian-born Anthony Ujah is Cologne’s top goalscorer this season with 10 strikes and will be sorely missed by the “Billy Goats” who have relied heavily on his goals and assists to sit pretty at 11th on the table, six points clear of relegation.
Ujah is seemingly transferring to a more ambitious club as Bremen are seventh and are hunting for a place in the UEFA Europa League next season.
Anthony joined Cologne on loan in 2012 from Mainz before signing permanently last season for 2 million euros.
Werder Bremen has already sent a welcome message to the striker on their official twitter page.

DONE DEAL: @ujah_9 will sign from @fckoeln_en next season! Welcome to #Werder, Anthony!
Thomas Eichin, Werder Bremen’s sporting director, delighted to have gotten his man, was quick to add:
“Negotiations with Anthony were intense and lengthy, and we made sure we had a complete picture. He’s quick, dangerous in front of goal and can continue his development with us,”
Anthony Ujah has only made four appearances for his country of birth and was part of the Super Eagles squad that featured at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
