The Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike who has been on a three-month goal drought, declared that it was as a result of a curse placed on him.
The Nigeria International went almost three months without scoring for Fenerbahçe in Turkey’s Süper Lig and claims bad luck was to blame for his goal drought.
The Super Eagles attacker spoke to Turkish newspaper, Milliyet about the situation claiming that “something is wrong.”
“My energy is not right, something is wrong, I just need a goal to get back to form,” Emenike said.
The former Spartak Moscow striker subsequently underwent a ritual called ‘Kur_un Dökme’ apparently to “remove the curse.”
Not quite long after he reportedly underwent the ‘Kur_un Dökme’, Unbelivably Emenike scored his first league goal since the 2nd of November, 2014.
He netted the winning goal as Fenerbahçe overcame Karabükspor at Dr. Necmettin Seyhoglu Stadi.
The striker has now netted three league goals this season.
Emenike had 15 attempts on goal, including blocked shots, between his second and third league goals.
