World best footballer Ronaldo Faces 3-match ban after being sent off yesterday’s match

Cristiano Ronaldo completely lost his head yesterday as the Real Madrid star was sent off against Cordoba.
Ronaldo aimed a punch and then kicked out at the opposition towards the end of Madrid’s La Liga match against Cordoba, and the referee brandished the red card.
At the time, the game was evenly poised at 1-1 and Cordoba had done a fantastic job bottling Ronaldo up. He clearly became frustrated and lashed out in uncharacteristic fashion.
Fortunately for the superstar, Gareth Bale got him out of jail with a late winner from the penalty spot for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The incident with Ronaldo happened after he scrapped with Cordoba’s Edimar at a Real Madrid corner. He seemed to aim a punch at the Cordoba player when they were jostling before later kicking out in anger.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has apologised for his dismissal against Cordoba on Saturday.
With the scores deadlocked at 1-1, the Portugal star kicked out at defender Edimar after a tussle at the far post following a free kick.
Referee Alejandro Hernandez issued an immediate red card to Ronaldo – the fourth of his career in La Liga – and the Ballon d’Or winner took to Twitter after the game to accept he had only himself to blame for the incident.
“I apologise to everyone, and especially to Edimar, for my thoughtless actions during the game today,” he said.
