5 Reasons Why Enyeama Should Be The African Footballer Of The Year

With the 2014 CAF African Footballer of the Year coming up next week, Thursday, the 8th of January, 2015, your Number 1 online Nigeria football Magazine SoccerNet Nigeria is back again with another Special Report. This obviously is highly anticipated by all die-hard Super Eagles fans – “Enyeama’s Chances Of Grabbing The African Footballer Of The Year.”
In this Article, we’ll discuss on a key point – Why he ‘should’ win the award. But in the next article after this, we’ll be discussing on why he ‘won’t’ win the award. So Enjoy.

5 Reasons Why Vincent Enyeama Should Win The 2014 African Player Of The Year Award

1. He Purely Deserves It
This is brief and clear. Enyeama truely deserves the Award because his nation won the African Championship beating Yaya’s Ivory Coast. Meanwhile, the other Candidate, Aubameyang …. Sorry i was checking if he played in the tournament. Enyeama was very Crucial to the Super Eagle’s triumph at the AFCON and was Arguably the player of the tournament. Mehn! He deserves it.

2. Vincent Was ‘Invincible’ For His Club Side
This is a tight one because all three Candidates performed wonderfully well for their Club sides with Yaya and Aubameyang performing wonders for City and Dortmund respectively. However, Enyeama’s performance for Lille was just outstanding and recently, he was named the Best goalkeeper in france by L’Equipe, beating PSG’s Sirigu. Wow!

3. Yaya Should Take A Break
Most football lovers around the world have already crowned Yaya Toure has the winner. Wake up! This guy won the last three editions. He should at least take a bow. Because of this reason, Di Maria was awarded the best Argentine player, when Messi is alive. It’s logic. Well, Just saying.

4. He’s The Most Consistent Among The Three Candidates
Enyeama has been in an unmatched form for both club and country in recent times. Whenever he plays for Lille, his presence is felt. He returns to Nigeria, he’s Magnificent. Perfect goalkeeper. He never falters and always shine when in between the sticks. Yaya’s performance for Cote d’ivore is below expected while Aubameyangs Gabon isn’t even noticed. Not his fault though.

5. Enyeama Has Less Support But Is Still Incredible
Looking at the three Candidates, Enyeama has the least support from team mates and He plays in a more difficult position. I bet none of you reading this Article can name five Lille players but you could name up to 7million players from Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund if given the chance. That shows Enyeama’s class. Absolutely Incredible.

I know this Article Catapulted your minds and reorientated you that Enyeama deserves to be Africa’s best. Yes! That’s what SoccerNet Nigeria are for. Don’t miss the next Special Report that will deal on why Enyeama won’t get the award. Thanks. Peace.
