Two Nigeria internationals – Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa – have made the five – man shortlist for the African Football of the Year award.
The Super Eagles stars must see off competition from current holder Yaya Toure of Manchester City, Asamoah Gyan (Al Ain, UAE) and Borussia Dortmund’s Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang .
Unfortunately, Mamelodi Sundowns winger Ejike Uzoenyi, the most outstanding player at the 2014 CHAN, failed to make the final cut for the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa).
The winners of the awards will be known at a gala ceremony to be held in Lagos on January 8 next year.
Ivory Coast national teamer Yaya Toure has won the African Player of the Year award three times in a row.
