The home-based super eagles managed to get a 1-0 win over the Black Meteors of Ghana at a ceremonial game, at the new world class Stadium in Uyo yesterday. According to SL10.ng, the players receved 1,000USD each as match bonus and they also got 30,000NGN for their travel expenses, but some of the players still feel it isn’t enough. A source disclosed to SL10.ng that the players were surprised with the amount they got. He said “Some of the players, especially the more established ones were not very happy with the 1,000 USD they collected because they’re used to collecting higher and the game being a ceremonial one with so much activities, they expected some largesse from the Akwa Ibom State Government but I don’t know if I should say they’re disappointed,”. Some of these players have played with the main super eagles, were they received between 5,000 to 10,000 USD and expected to get something similar in this game. However, the players have decamped and returned to their various clubs to prepare for the remaining matches of the season. follow mefor updates.
