It is Messi’s week. 10 years since Barca debut

Leo Messi is getting on. In spite of having turned just 27 a few months ago, next Thursday ten years will have passed since he made his full debut for the Barcelona team.
It was on 16th October 2004 when he played for a few minutes at Montjuic in the Barcelona derby game against Espanyol. And from that day on, Messi has gone on to be arguably the Best player in history.

What Messi has achieved with this Barcelona side has confirmed without any doubt the club’s place in history. Leo has been at the forefront of the extraordinary sporting project devised by Laporta and Txiki Begiristain.
Barcelona once more became one of football’s elite clubs with Rijkaard on the bench and Ronaldinho on the field. However, this success was only fleeting, showing signs of fading prematurely, something which only Messi could bring back again.
