Iniesta beats Ronaldo and Co. to win Golden Foot Award

The Barcelona playmaker finished ahead of the likes of CR7 and Ribery.

Andres Iniesta has won an award from Monaco’s Prince Albert II, called the Golden Foot. This hails him as the best player in the world, for players aged 28 years and over.
It is regarded as the only International Football Award that the winner is choses by fans votes and is Awarded by a Prince.

The Award can only be won once and Iniesta is the first Spanish and Barcelona player ever to win it.

Iniesta shared a picture earlier today with his wife and other representatives of Barcelona which showed him on the way to the award ceremony.
Iniesta, 30, was the only Barcelona player to appear in the top 10, although ex Blaugrana stars Yaya Toure and Thierry Henry were also up there.
Franck Ribery, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Manuel Neuer, Andrea Pirlo, Thiago Silva and female footballer Marta Vieira Da Silva filled out the rest of the top 10.
The winner is voted for on the website of the award, so it is football fans who have recognised Iniesta’s achievements.
